Space2Grow#33 - Young Barnet Foundation
We are delighted to have worked with 'Space2Grow#33 - Young Barnet Foundation' to be able to set up funded afterschool table tennis session for the young community.
We are grateful to have been able to use the sport of Table Tennis with the support of Young Barnet Foundation to positively impact the young community. We have be able to do this by setting up these funded programmes enabling children of 8-17yrs to learn a new skill or further the current skills of Table Tennis in a safe and supported environment. By having these regular sessions, the young community have a fun activity to do afterschool or at the weekend where they are making friendships, learning new skills, learning the importance of team work and discipline and installing drive in their character whilst having fun in a competitive and friendly environment. The positive aspects mentioned above prevent the young community from spending time all their time indoors in front of a screen or outdoors where negative choices may be influenced.
Please see below some of our wonderful comments taken from our feedback forms:
- 'My son improved his playing skills. He became more confident with playing. He met new friends. He could spend his free time after school active'.
- 'Its been excellent for the kids to get good grounding on the basics of Table Tennis. Also good for them to be active and playing with other kids of similar level'.
- 'Is very nice to have a proper class run by experts and to see kids having fun at the same time'.
